- KPV is a tripeptide (Lys-Pro-Val) corresponding to the C-terminal fragment (residues 11-13) of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (alpha-MSH). In research models it is studied as an anti-inflammatory agent, with investigations focused on its modulation of NF-kB signalling and pro-inflammatory cytokine production.
