Safety & Handling

This page explains how the research materials supplied through Helix Labs and Ethereal Labs (together, "we", "us", or "the Company") must be handled. It applies to every product in our shared catalogue and forms part of our Terms. Read it in full before you order, receive, open, store, or work with any product. Last reviewed: 15 July 2026.

Research Use Only — Read First

All products supplied through this site are furnished strictly for in vitro laboratory research use only. They are intended solely for use by qualified researchers in a controlled laboratory setting.

Our products are NOT for human or veterinary use of any kind. They are not drugs, foods, cosmetics, dietary supplements, or medical devices, and they are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or condition. They must never be administered to, consumed by, or applied to humans or animals.

By purchasing, you confirm that you are a qualified researcher (or are ordering on behalf of a qualified research institution), that you are at least 21 years of age, and that you will use the products solely for lawful research purposes. Nothing on this site should be read as encouragement to use any product in any manner inconsistent with this restriction.

Handle as Hazardous Laboratory Materials

Treat every product as a hazardous, chemically and biologically active research material whose full effects are not characterised. Assume that any material may be harmful if mishandled, inhaled, ingested, injected, or brought into contact with skin, eyes, or mucous membranes.

Handle all products in accordance with standard good laboratory practice and the safety protocols of your own institution. Where a product-specific Safety Data Sheet (SDS) is available, follow it. Do not eat, drink, smoke, or store food in areas where products are handled, and wash thoroughly after handling.

Qualified Personnel Only

Products may only be received, opened, and handled by trained personnel who are competent in laboratory safety and in the handling of research chemicals and peptides. Handling should take place in an appropriate, controlled laboratory environment with suitable engineering controls (for example, a fume hood or biosafety cabinet where indicated by your risk assessment).

You are responsible for ensuring that everyone who handles these materials has been properly trained and is authorised to do so under your institution's policies.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times when handling products, consistent with your own risk assessment and institutional requirements. At a minimum this typically includes:

  • Chemically resistant gloves
  • Eye protection (safety glasses or goggles)
  • A laboratory coat or other suitable protective clothing
  • Respiratory protection where dust, aerosols, or fumes may be generated

Inspect PPE before use, replace it when damaged or contaminated, and remove and dispose of it safely after handling.

Keep Out of Reach of Children and Unqualified Persons

Keep all products — including any reconstituted or diluted preparations — securely stored and out of the reach of children, pets, and any person who is not a qualified researcher. Store materials in clearly labelled, closed containers in a secured area with restricted access.

Never transfer products into unlabelled containers, or into food or beverage containers of any kind.

Storage

Store products in their original, sealed containers, protected from light, heat, and moisture, until they are needed for research. Specific storage conditions vary by product; where storage requirements apply to a particular item, they are indicated on the product page, its Certificate of Analysis (COA), and/or its Safety Data Sheet (SDS). Follow those conditions in preference to this general guidance.

Some materials are supplied in lyophilised (freeze-dried) form and require refrigeration or freezing. Once reconstituted, many materials are less stable and must be kept refrigerated and used within a limited period. Reconstitution, aliquoting, and the handling of any solvents must be carried out by qualified personnel using appropriate technique and PPE.

If you are unsure of the correct storage conditions for a specific product, contact us at support@helixresearchlabs.net before use.

Disposal

Dispose of all products, unused material, reconstituted preparations, contaminated consumables, and packaging as laboratory waste, in accordance with your institution's waste-management procedures and all applicable local, the operator's jurisdiction, and international regulations.

Do not pour products down the drain, place them in general household or municipal waste, or dispose of them in any manner that does not comply with the regulations applicable to the material concerned. Where required, use a licensed hazardous-waste contractor.

Safety Data Sheets & Certificates of Analysis

A Certificate of Analysis (COA) is available for each batch and can be requested through our COAs page or by emailing support@helixresearchlabs.net.

Where a Safety Data Sheet (SDS) is available for a product, we will provide it on request. Please allow 1–3 business days for us to respond to SDS and COA requests. The absence of an SDS for a given product does not reduce your responsibility to handle it as a hazardous research material and to carry out your own risk assessment.

Risk Assessment & Emergency Response

Before handling any product, carry out a documented risk assessment appropriate to the material, the quantity, and the procedures involved. Ensure that suitable first-aid measures, spill-control materials, and emergency procedures are in place and understood by all personnel before work begins.

Emergency planning and response are the responsibility of the researcher and their institution. We do not provide clinical, medical, or emergency-response guidance. In the event of an exposure, spill, or other incident, follow your institution's emergency procedures and the guidance in the applicable SDS, and seek professional medical or emergency assistance as appropriate.

If any person ingests, injects, or is otherwise accidentally exposed to a product, treat it as a medical emergency: contact your local emergency services or poison-control centre immediately.

No Medical, Dosing, or Administration Guidance

We do not provide, and cannot provide, dosing, administration, or usage instructions for any product, because our products are not intended for administration to humans or animals.

Any information supplied by us — including molecular data, purity results, and handling notes — is provided solely to support in vitro laboratory research and must not be interpreted as guidance for human or veterinary use.

Your Legal Responsibility & Import Compliance

You are solely responsible for determining whether you may lawfully purchase, import, possess, handle, and use a given product in your country, state, or region, and for complying with all applicable laws and regulations. The legal status of research chemicals and peptides varies between jurisdictions and can change.

We ship worldwide, but you — as the buyer and importer of record — are responsible for any customs, import, licensing, or permit requirements that apply at your destination, and for any duties or taxes. We are not responsible for orders detained, seized, delayed, or destroyed by customs or other authorities where import is restricted or prohibited. If you are unsure whether you may lawfully receive a product, do not order it.
